ROOMMATE.EXE

Seven-day pixel life sim where you share an apartment with a Jev roommate: the engine offers 6–8 legal, reachable actions and Jev picks one with a Choice question; pathfinding and consequences stay in code.

What it is

A small life sim that makes Jev's choices visible as actions in a shared apartment.

What it does: The engine generates the current set of legal, reachable and distinct actions (cook, rest, fix a device, observe, interact with the player) and Jev chooses one id. Each action is queued, pathed, checked on arrival and committed atomically, and needs, mood, trust and shared memories change what is possible next. On the seventh night both sides secretly decide whether to renew the lease, and the ending shows Jev's key decisions with their probabilities.

Why it belongs in the showcase: A clean split between Jev choosing from a closed action list and code owning the world, with recovery when the model fails.

Caveats: MVP demo; free OpenCode Zen endpoint; no published quality metrics.

Evidence

Public MIT README (Chinese); React + Phaser front end, Fastify API with one decision endpoint; Jev only returns an action id, never coordinates or world changes; responses are revalidated against the world version before commit; parse failures retry once, three consecutive failures pause only Jev; uses `jev-1.13-free` via OpenCode Zen (`OPENCODE_API_KEY`, falls back to `TYPESAFE_API_KEY`), with a mock mode for offline development.

Caveats

  • Game demo / MVP: free chat, multi-character town and open world are explicitly out of scope
  • Runs through OpenCode Zen's free Jev endpoint, which may differ from the paid TypeSafe API
  • No play-testing or decision-quality metrics published; new repository at intake (0 stars)

Unofficial case page. Stars / list position observed for heat; do not treat heat as a quality SLA. Review the upstream README before you depend on it.
