YouTube Jev Filter

A MIT Chrome extension that hides YouTube clickbait, hype, and Shorts by asking hosted TypeSafe Jev three questions per card (clickbait Noul, hype Noul, substance Score 0–3) and applying code-owned soft/normal/strict thresholds.

What it is

Hide noisy cards with hosted Jev; keep substance.

What it does: Scores each YouTube card, caches answers, and hides by mode.

Why it belongs in the showcase: Hosted-Jev feed sieve complementary to sponsor-skip.

Caveats: Heuristic filters.

Evidence

Public MIT repo, created 2026-10-30, 0 stars as of 2026-10-30. README (Russian) documents three typed questions in one request, shared.js thresholds, per-video-id cache, and TypeSafe Jev docs link. Distinct from AnatoliyLikarchuk/youtube-sponsor-skip (spoken sponsor segments vs title/card clutter).

Caveats

  • README is primarily Russian; verify UX yourself
  • Needs a TypeSafe API key and YouTube DOM access
  • Thresholds are heuristic, not a published accuracy study

Unofficial case page. Stars / list position observed for heat; do not treat heat as a quality SLA. Review the upstream README before you depend on it.
