What it is
Semantic ad hiding with a rules-first fallback.
What it does: Combines declarativeNetRequest rules and CSS hiding with Jev verdicts on ambiguous page elements, and restores anything Jev clears.
Why it belongs in the showcase: A concrete page-clutter-hide extension that shows how to cache Jev verdicts and keep working without the API.
Caveats: Unpacked install only; no measured accuracy.
Evidence
Public GPL-3.0 repo. Detection runs in layers: strong CSS markers and converted EasyList China / CJX Annoyance rules hide elements first; site detectors, overlay geometry and scored candidates go to Jev. High-confidence candidates are hidden at once and restored if Jev says they are not ads. Verdicts are cached per site and slot for 7 days. Without an API key, or on errors or quota limits, it falls back to local rules. Default settings: adThreshold 0.75, mainGuard 0.55, hourly budget 30,000.
Caveats
- Load-unpacked developer extension; not listed in the Chrome Web Store at intake
- With a key set, candidate text (up to 240 characters), element features and outbound domains may be sent to TypeSafe
- Site rules focus on Chinese sites (Zhihu, Weibo, Bilibili, QQ Mail, hao123)
- No published accuracy or false-positive numbers
Unofficial case page. Stars / list position observed for heat; do not treat heat as a quality SLA. Review the upstream README before you depend on it.
