Photo Ferret

A photo gallery you browse with sliders: Jev's image input rates every photo on dozens of scales (sky, water, snow, sky drama, wildness, scale, quality), and a static site lets visitors filter by those ratings.

What it is

Turns a personal photo archive into a gallery you can filter by mood and content.

What it does: Jev rates each photo on fixed scales; visitors filter with range sliders.

Why it belongs in the showcase: A live, public site built on typed image judgments.

Caveats: Image input is a preview feature.

Evidence

Public MIT repo, created 2026-10-20. The README links a live demo at stevenjonesphotography.ca with about 2,800 nature photos from 2009–2026. A local authoring tool uploads photos and has Jev tag each one; owners can override any tag, and overrides survive re-running Jev. An export script writes a static site for Cloudflare with no Jev calls and no private data (no internal ids, Jev confidences or raw answers).

Caveats

  • Uses TypeSafe image and Box features, which TypeSafe labels as preview
  • The authoring tool is meant to run only on your own computer
  • Each new photo costs Jev requests on your own key

Unofficial case page. Stars / list position observed for heat; do not treat heat as a quality SLA. Review the upstream README before you depend on it.
