What it is
CLI and agent skill that answers repository questions by letting Jev rank folders, files, and declarations for relevance.
What it does: jg explores a repo hierarchy, picks qualifying files, and returns reading leads plus source excerpts for the calling coding agent.
Why it belongs in the showcase: Shipped npm package with a clear semantic-find / retrieve-then-judge shape.
Caveats: Source leaves the machine via the chosen provider; benchmark savings are author-reported.
Evidence
Public MIT README + npm @dzhng/jevgrep; Jev judges relevance across folders, files, declarations.
Caveats
- Sends eligible source to the selected Jev provider
- Author-reported SWE-bench cost study — not a guarantee
- Needs Node 22+ and a provider key (TypeSafe / AI Gateway / OpenRouter / …)
