Jev ToS Checker

A MIT Chrome extension that splits an on-page terms-of-service into clauses and asks hosted TypeSafe Jev whether each clause looks abusive across eight categories, highlighting matches at ≥70% probability.

What it is

Keep clause text on the page; let hosted Jev score abusive-pattern risk.

What it does: Segments ToS text, asks typed questions per category, and marks high-probability cautions next to the source.

Why it belongs in the showcase: Practical hosted-Jev document screening in the browser with explicit evidence UX.

Caveats: Assistive tool only.

Evidence

Public MIT repo, created 2026-10-26, 0 stars as of 2026-10-30. README (EN/JA) documents eight abuse categories, on-demand page read, evidence scroll/highlight, GitHub Releases zip + attestation verify, and a project site. Uses TypeSafe's Jev model per README.

Caveats

  • Not legal advice; flags clauses for human review only
  • Not on the Chrome Web Store yet — sideload from Releases
  • Needs a TypeSafe API key for live checks

Unofficial case page. Stars / list position observed for heat; do not treat heat as a quality SLA. Review the upstream README before you depend on it.
