Agents heat 2 · Cool★ 0heat incomplete (no X)

hermes-loopguard

A Hermes Agent plugin that stops cron and kanban automations from paying frontier models for unchanged state: a zero-token change gate, then a typed Jev gate that routes items to agent, kanban, review or drop.

What it is

Puts a cheap, typed path in front of expensive agent wake-ups.

What it does: Skips unchanged polls, triages the rest with Jev, and only wakes the agent when needed.

Why it belongs in the showcase: Measured token savings with caveats stated up front.

Caveats: Small bench; preview vision features.

Evidence

Public MIT repo with CI, created 2026-10-16. README shows `{"wakeAgent": false}` when nothing changed, a SQLite review queue, and a `jev_computer` bench on 11 Xvfb desktop tasks: in round X7 both arms passed 15/22, the Jev driver for $0.1217 vs $1.8863 for a claude-opus-4-6-thinking loop (6.4%); the X8 Jev rerun passed 18/22 without a baseline rerun.

Caveats

  • 22 runs per arm is small; the author reads X8 as "at least as good"
  • Image input and Box are a Jev preview feature
  • Not on PyPI; install editable into the Hermes environment

Unofficial case page. Stars / list position observed for heat; do not treat heat as a quality SLA. Review the upstream README before you depend on it.
