tsjev for DuckDB

DuckDB extension that turns Jev decisions into SQL functions (tsjev_label, tsjev_classify, tsjev_if, tsjev_score, tsjev_tags, tsjev_ask) with row dedupe, memory and disk cache, and 32 parallel requests.

What it is

Typed decisions as first-class SQL in DuckDB.

What it does: Label, filter, score and tag rows from a query, with caching and dedupe built in.

Why it belongs in the showcase: Practical analytics integration that handles cost and speed on real tables.

Caveats: Data leaves the machine; new project.

Evidence

Public MIT repo by Querio-App (0★ at intake) created 2026-10-18. README lists the function table with return types (e.g. STRUCT label/confidence/probabilities for tsjev_classify), label maps sent as Jev criteria, 2–255 labels per choice and 2–10 score levels, tsjev_usage() counters, and a comparison table of prompted LLM vs Jev for table labelling.

Caveats

  • Sends row text to TypeSafe; check data policy before running on sensitive tables
  • Cost scales with distinct rows; watch tsjev_usage()
  • New repo; distinct from existing pg-jev and jevsql showcases
