What it is
Caption-based sponsor skip for Russian YouTube.
What it does: Splits captions into chunks, asks Jev sponsor versus content, merges adjacent sponsor spans, refines boundaries, and seeks past them with a Restore control.
Why it belongs in the showcase: Same decision pattern as other sponsor-caption tools, with a small measured check against SponsorBlock on channels that may lack community labels.
Caveats: Small Russian-only eval; caption dependent.
Evidence
Public MIT repo. Author check on 6 videos from Wylsacom and AcademeG (~3 hours), with SponsorBlock labels verified by hand as the reference: about 91% of sponsor seconds caught, worst false skip 11 s on one video, and no false positives in the middle of ordinary content. Uses typesafe/jev-1.13 via OpenRouter on 20 s caption chunks, then a ~5 s refine pass; caches up to 500 videos; does not touch YouTube's own pre-roll or mid-roll ads.
Caveats
- Evaluation set is six videos on two Russian channels; not a broad language benchmark
- Prefers showing a sponsor over skipping real content when uncertain
- Needs captions; auto-captions quality affects results
